▶Excel in your interview◀ Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

To approach this question, we can utilize a two-plus-three-year structure method, which allows for a clear visualization of the planning.

Answer:

1-2 years

I had the opportunity to chat with some alumni who are currently working at Company X. And I understand that I can have exposure to a variety of exciting projects. So for the first 1-2 years, I look forward to keeping an eye open mind taking proactive actions and absorbing as much industry specific knowledge as I can from my peers, managers, and clients, no matter what project.

At the same time, I really hope to enhance the strategic thinking, storytelling, data analysis and problem-solving skills I developed during my career. When I have some free time, I definitely be helping out on business development pitch decks and doing more in-depth research to hone my skills.

3- 5 years

I look forward to specializing in one business area and deeply expanding my network and capabilities for the two-three years after that. I'll have learned more about what goes into putting together development opportunities for employees and have hopefully coordinated or run some training sessions for new hires. To sum up, in five years, see myself working on engagements covering different segments, specializing in 1 business vertical by building up my capabilities there and taking on more responsibilities, hopefully adding value through this journey.
